Sunday, was a wonderful day at Green Ridge.

There were many visitors.  We had so many of our regular members away for a break, but we were blessed with many visitors.  It was a great day.

I watched as our young people carried in eight bags of clothes for the Clothing Give-Away next Saturday the 18th.

Trunk or Treat is coming up on the 25th and we need candy, lots of candy and chili.

If you would like to help give out flyers for our Homecoming, meet at the church at 9:00AM on Saturday the 25th.  Homecoming is October 26th.

We also received another big check to go toward the indebtness of the church.  Watch for more information concerning this work.

It is a great time to be alive and working in the Kingdom of God. 
Americans are worried about their stock portfolios, retirements and home mortgages. 
Others are worried about what they will eat today, where they will sleep or what they will wear as winter draws near. 
Republicans worry about the Democrats and Democrats worry about the future.
What will happen after the November election?
War, terrorism, listen to the news.  It is enough to depress any soul.

In whom or what do we trust?
Leaders, money, human counsel, military?

We trust in God!

We take refuge in God!

Maybe it is outdated, well worn, but I like the statement "Nothing is ever settled till it is settled right, and nothing is ever settled right till it is settled with God."

Settle It With God....

Job said, "Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God"  (Job 13:3).  He had lost out in the lower courts, and wished to appeal to a higher tribunal.  We will continue to have world problems, including war, and terrorism, until men get right with God.  We need to be ready to do business with God.

Without giving heed to God's will, we will also continue to have problems in the home.  Never have so many homes been on the rocks.  Some are patched up temporarily for the sake of decency, but domestic problems will never be settled until they are settled according to God.  A man will not do right by his wife and children if he is fighting with God.  Get right with God and the home and world will be a better place to live.
