Great things happening at Green Ridge.

Clothing give-away was awesome!  What a day, many families were helped, it was a great day, thanks to all that helped.  We need to start planning for our next give-away.  We are always in need of infant or young children's clothes.  As the economy declines the need will be that much greater.

The food give-away, the boxes, thanks for all the food, 24+ families were helped.  The church has the names of several children who need help during the holiday season.  Let's pull together to help those less fortunate.  Green Ridge is developing a name for helping others.  Let's keep up the good work.

Meals on wheels has been a great work that we have been involved in for years.  We are now over 30 meals given out each week.  This is an opportunity for  us to visit with people who may need a smile as much as they need a meals.  If you want to help see Nancy or Clarice.

Spiritual Stewardship Campaign is going great,  thanks to all who participate, we are getting through this tough time.

Have a great week, see you Sunday for the big day!!!!

Here are a couple of scriptures I am really wrestling with right now.

Some way to be distinctive!
Some radical ideas!

Luke 6:27-36 (NRSV)

27“But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. 29If anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from anyone who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt. 30Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again. 31Do to others as you would have them do to you.

32“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again. 35But love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. 36Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Luke 14:12-14 (NRSV)

12He said also to the one who had invited him, “When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, in case they may invite you in return, and you would be repaid. 13But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. 14And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you, for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
